Acklen Park Volleyball Association
Every Thursday from May through October, the Acklen Park Volleyball Association plays from 5 pm until dark on the lawn in front of Outback Steakhouse (weather permitting). The group has been at this almost 10 years. Play is open to all and they welcome new players. 269-2433


Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Centennial Art Center
Located in the northernmost corner of Centennial Park, the Art Center hosts a variety of shows and exhibitions featuring local artists. Arts classes are also offered here through Metro Parks' Cultural Arts Program. 862-8442


General Jackson Showboat
Styled in the grand tradition of the paddlewheel riverboats that cruised the great Southern waterways in the 1800s, the General Jackson was named after the first steamboat to operate on the Cumberland River in 1817.

The Parthenon
The Parthenon, located in the heart of Centennial Park, serves as the city of Nashville's art museum. The focus of the Parthenon's permanent collection is a group of 63 paintings by 19th and 20th century American artists donated by James M. Cowan. Additional gallery spaces provide a venue for a variety of temporary shows and exhibits. 862-8431


Music Valley Wax Museum

Sarratt Gallery
Gallery Hours are 9 am to 9 pm, Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday. During the summer months, as well as holiday and semester breaks, the gallery closes at 4:30 pm each weekday and is closed on weekends. All events are open to the public free of charge. 322-2471.


Belle Meade Plantation
